What's it all about then Guvnor?

The Mongol Rally. Born in 2001 by Mr Tom and Mr Joolz, the rally has grown from a couple of mates wondering what to do with a crappy old car and too much spare time into 200 teams leaving Hyde Park every summer and trying to find their way to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

In 2008 we three are going to be one of them.

With only the smallest amount of planning and thought we shall be attempting to drive a London Taxi (complete with working meter we hope) all the way through Europe and into the great expanse of Asia.  A foolish brag but its all for charity mate.

What's the point?
The world is just a little bit too safe. Package holidays have come and taken the adventure out of the adventure holiday.  Lonely Planet has guided and helped us to avoid all known dangers.  But danger is part of the adventure and the clever chaps at the Mongol Rally have come up with a plan to allow 21st Century city dwellers (like us) to return to the great unknown.... 
Its also about money and in particular raising as much as possible for a selection of Mongolian charities. 

When is it?
The Mongol Rally 2008 starts on July 19th 2008 from London.
