Chaps, after such a long journey, head to the "Little Irish" Bar in Ulaanbaataaaaar (Locals call it "UB" for short - for good reason!) There is also a "Big Irish" Bar that has live music most nights too, and I have spent a couple of fine afternoons sat outside this establishment watching the locals crash into each other at one of UB's busiest road junctions (with tarmac!) - there is no right of way and traffic lights don't generally work, so it is everyman for themselves! Ps. Hitch-hiking is Mongolias equivelent to a public transport system, and giving someone a lift generally saves the nomads days of walking so I recommend you do it. Also all Mongolian men are born with an intermate knowledge of engine maintainance, and love to show off how to bodge engine repairs in exchange for booze - take plenty of whisky miniture bottles to give as payment for any im-promtu repairs!
